With the motto of, “You won’t find her at the Mall,” Duluth boutique, Uptown Girl, is a one of a kind women’s clothing and accessories shop.
The shop, located in the suburbs of Atlanta, was opened in 1998 by Mary Ann Jarusinski, and later it was run by her daughter, Ashley McCann. Ashley left to devote more time to, along with her husband, Atlanta Braves catcher Brian McCann, the Rally Foundation, that focuses on raising awareness and funds for childhood cancer research. Ashley has passed the reins to her sister-in-law, Michelle Jarusinski, but the goals remain the same as they strive to provide unique clothes for women that you will not see on a trip to the local mall.
Uptown Girl is located across from the Gwinnett Civic Center in a strip shopping center in Duluth with a Kroger on one end and an upscale restaurant on the other end. However, when you walk in the door you will immediately feel at home and forget you are in a shopping center, as the decor is fresh and inviting, and Michelle and her twin sister, Leslie Bullard, are adorable, positive and very helpful in finding what works for you. They have clothes displayed creatively as complete chic outfits complete with fabulous jewelry and handbags.
Uptown Girl has everything from sun dresses and cocktail dresses to cute casual tops and bottoms as well as unique jewelry that is spectacular. Some of the lines that they carry are: Free People, Hale Bob, Honesty, Michael Stars, Pete and Greta, Twigs, Virgins Saints and Angels and much more. Michelle strives to find, at various markets around the country, fabulous clothes that are stylish, fun and original. Several of their lines are exclusive to Uptown Girl in the state of Georgia. And they recently launched their online shopping experience, so shopping at Uptown Girl just got easier!
It’s worth a trip to the suburbs to uncover and enjoy this gem of a store. I bet you will be happy you made the drive!
