CultureHaus: Fashion To The Max At Denver Art Museum

Mannequins draped in beautiful flowing fabrics, detailed sketch designs and models ripping the runway to heart-pumping music. Although suggestive of a high energy fashion convention in Milan or Tokyo, this scene will spring to life here in the Mile High city thanks to CultureHaus, a social and educational support group of the Denver Art Museum. Founded in 1997, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper and others formed CultureHaus to “create awareness of the Denver Art Museum and the arts among the 25- to 40-year-old demographic.” CultureHaus provides both members and nonmembers with unique opportunities to experience art through fundraisers, educational programs and social gatherings.

The annual Bash event, themed Fashion to the MAX, will present the Denver Art Museum’s Fashion Studio, an interactive display which will allow attendees to experience a day in the life of a fashion designer: from learning about fabrics to draping mannequins and sketching clothing designs.Participants will also be able to hear from local designers about the fashion design process.

In addition to these fashion forward experiences, attendees can view vintage couture designs provided by event sponsor Buffalo Exchange. Prominent local fashion designer Fallene Wells will be in attendance as well, providing a sneak peek of her new fall line, Modern Nouveau, and giving her perspective on the current and future state of the fashion industry both in and outside Denver.

“As with many of CultureHaus’ events throughout the year, we are  offering members and nonmembers a unique way to experience one of the  Denver Art Museum’s popular spaces, while engaging and featuring talented contributors to our cultural community,” Jennifer McIntire, BASH Co-Chair
