When I am downtown, I often find myself looking for a fast place to grab a bite for lunch. No, I don’t mean fast food, but quality food served quickly. One place I love to drop in is Ted’s Butcherblock. This August, Ted’s is spicing up their routine with two new regular weekly specials available in limited quantities.
The first is Ultimate Burger Saturdays, which will feature a different handcrafted burger each Saturday starting at noon. Chef Brian Parkhurst and his team will fire up the Big Green Egg every Saturday and offer a burger featuring Painted Hill Beef and special buns. Changing every week and available for $10 with a side, the burger creations are inspired by Chef Brian’s travels and favorite recipes.
In addition to Ultimate Burger Saturdays, Ted’s is introducing “The Big Sandwich” that is available every Wednesday at lunch for $11 with one side. Slices of this 42-inch baguette are layered with Black Forest ham, fennel salami, hot sopporessata, mortadella, and aged provolone, then topped with romaine lettuce, tomato, shaved red onion, hard-boiled egg, dried basil, oregano, and oil and vinegar. The entire Big Sandwich, which serves 8-12 people, is available for catering with 48 hours advance notice and is $80.
