Miss A’s Faves: Top 10 Boutiques In Nantucket

Nantucket Island sits thirty miles south of Cape Cod. This small island (less than 50 square miles) is a haven for the wealthy and the beautiful. But while it welcomes small leer jets, it also serves as a dynamic artist community and a perfect spot for weekend getaway, even for those of us who travel by boat. It’s a faraway place that is as special as it sounds – the history is rich, the beaches are beautiful, the scenery is quaint, the restaurants are amazing and the shopping can’t be beat. If you have a chance to visit Nantucket, be sure to hit some of these top spots:

C Wonder
“C” doesn’t necessarily stand for cheap, chic and cheerful but in this case it should. This new, amazingly affordable shop on Federal Street is a welcome addition to the generally higher priced shops on the island. The NYC favorite is stocked with products that range from shorts and shirts to candles, tunics, sandals and frames. I promise you this – you are guaranteed to find something coloful to love.

Milly & Grace
This is one of my favorite shops on the island. If you need a summer dress, pretty blouse, bright necklace or housewarming gift, this is the place to go. Owner Emily Ott Hollister does a great job of highlighting known (Rebecca Taylor) and lesser-known (Joie) designers and has perfect items at all price points. The best part? The friendly service – you feel like you’re shopping with your best friend

The Lovely
This new shop has quickly become one of my favorites. Proprietor Julie Biondi has done an amazing job opening a shop that makes everyone feel welcome because she literally has something for every body type. She carries one of my favorite UK designers, Ingenue as well as dozens of others: VPL, Beyond Vintage, Rachel Pally, Natalie Martin, the list goes on. Shopping on your own and need an opinion? You’ll get an honest opinion from her – now that alone is worth the money!Favorite item: Belt by Steliios made of handwoven braided copper wire – the most versatile and pretty belt I own!

In the Pink
This is a rare find in Nantucket as the island doesn’t welcome too many “chain” stores. That said, the island has certainly welcomed Lilly Pulitzer. I have found so many cute pieces at this LP island outpost. In addition to sporting a huge line for women (beyond the bright and formal motifs LP is famous for), they also have a small children’s section and great accessories from KEP Designs (a personal favorite line of mine)

Favorite item: The Jonah dress

Erica Wilson
This classic Nantucket boutique has been around for a while, but that certainly doesn’t make it boring. Originally opened to sell upscale needlework and provide classes for needlepoint, Erica Wilson has expanded to become a go-to shop for beautiful clothing and accessories. From Orla Kiely bags to Tkees dresses, you’re bound to find something special. Stop in to be inspired

Looking for a 1970s maxi dress and a perfect bottle of Rose? Of course you are. Welcome to Current Vintage. This fantastic spot features some of the most meticulous buying on the island – the vintage clothing is in near-perfect condition and the wine is rare and tasty. You can also count on finding some fantastic accessories too

Murray’s Toggery

Murray’s is the birthplace of the famous “Nantucket red” pant. It’s also the closest thing to a small department store that you’ll find on island. They have a great men’s department and carry all the best preppy wear from Ralph Lauren to Sperry and Vineyard Vines. For ladies, they have a good selection of dresses, swimwear and sandals. A Nantucket classic that is worth stepping into
