Enjoy the world’s best dancers in Chicago at the Chicago Dancing Festival! See the best dancing movies and performances of Don Quixote and other themed events like “Chicago Dancing” with dancers from the Joffrey Ballet, Houston Ballet , and many other gifted dancers from Chicago.
The festival was founded by Lar Lubovitch and Jay Franke to show that Chicago can be a dance mecca similar to New York or Paris. The founders also wanted wanted to make dance more accessible to a wide audience, so some of the performances are free to the public. The festival features wide varieties of dance, from ballet to hip-hop. The festival will feature dancers from the After School Matters program and will no doubt have a tribute to the late former Chicago first lady Maggie Daley, a longtime supporter of Chicago arts. Art and dance enthusiasts must attend the Chicago Dancing Festival to see the best of dance right in downtown Chicago.
