On Sunday, August 5, 2012 Philadelphia magazine presented their 1st Annual Philadelphia Style Magazine Cup. The event was held at the Brandywine Polo Club in Toughkenamon, PA.

The polo match competition was between The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia Polo Team versus Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Polo Team.
The event began with signature cocktails and hors d’oeuvres provided by Grey Goose and 10 Arts by Eric Ripert. The appetizers included salmon tartae with caper, dijon cornichon which was delicious. The cocktails had cute fitting names for the event like the Pony and the Chukka. Dinner and dessert was provided by Samuel and Son’s and Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa. Dinner was a mix for everyone: shrimp, delicious steak, all different kinds of salad and grilled vegetables. The dessert was a mixture of white mousse, fruit tarts and yummy brownies. Music was also provided by DJ Eddie who entertained the attendees with Jazz before the competition began.

The match started at 3 p.m. and it was quite entertaining.The friendly competition ended in 9-9 tie for both teams. It was ended with the 2012 Fisker on the field providing everyone with a glass of champagne and a chance to take a picture with the team. Fisker Automotive provided their guests a chance to learn more about the automobile and show off an American luxury car. It was the perfect day for the event, the weather was great and the atmosphere was the same.
The style at the event was very high class country club attire. Women came dressed to impress with classy dresses and hats to match. The sure winner of the best hat of the afternoon had to go to Beth Beverly, who happens to specialize in wearable trophies and fantasy mounts and is the owner Diamond Tooth Taxidermy.

Her head piece reminded of Carrie Bradshaw’s in her wedding in Sex in the City the movie. The men where dressed more on the casual side but they complimented the women well.
The afternoon was one to remember Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa gave away umbrella chairs to all that were in attendance. One other lucky attendee received a free night at the Borgata Hotel and Casino along with $200 of free play. This was surely an event to remember.
