Piedmont Park Arts Festival will host a two day outdoor event with an emphasis on the visual arts and family fun on August 18 – 19, 2012 at Piedmont Park in Midtown Atlanta.
This event will feature up to 200 painters, photographers, sculptors, leather and metalworkers, glass blowers, jewelers, crafters, a street market, live acoustic music and a children’s play area, plus festival foods and beverages with healthy alternatives. Emerging artists of all stripes are encouraged to participate.
“We are constantly asked to remember the local artists when planning our festivals,” says Patrick Dennis, President of the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces. ”So this is our best effort to bring back the tradition of past years when local artists could have the opportunity to show and sell their work in Atlanta’s most famous park.”
The 2012 Piedmont Park Summer Arts Festival is organized by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces, LLC , which also sponsors the fall fine arts Chastain Park Arts Festival and the Buckhead Spring Arts and Crafts Festival, along with a board of experts in various artistic disciplines. The festival will uphold the highest standards supporting the arts and offer participating artists the environment to nurture appreciation for their skills.
