Spandana Singh better known as Spandi, is a high school senior who has an avid passion for journalism. Originally from India, she has so far lived in countries like Kenya, Italy, Ethiopia, The United States and Indonesia and looks forward to living in many more.

While not busy with the IB Program, Spandi loves to play the piano, dance, explore new cultures (especially their cuisines) and spend time with her friends and her two turtles.

As she gets older she hopes to pursue a double major in international relations and journalism and by the time she is thirty wants to have lived in every continent in the world, (except for Antarctica).

Luna Park At Coney Island

Summer may be slowly coming to a close, but that’s no reason to stop having fun. Go to the beach while you still can, and don’t miss out on all the exciting events at Coney Island’s Luna Park. Decorated with exhilarating and high flying rides, as well as more toned down ones from those who aren’t fans of adrenaline rushes, Luna Park is the perfect place for a day out with the family, or with friends as it brightens up what would otherwise be just a regular beach day.

The Park consists of three levels of rides, High Thrill rides like the Brooklyn Flyer, Wild River, and the legendary Cyclone, Moderate Thrill rides like Coney Tower and the Coney Island Hang Glider, and Low Thrill rides like the Tea Party and Happy Swing. And if you’re a fearless adrenaline rush lover, you will definitely enjoy the Scream Zone, which is conveniently located next to the Luna Park, and is equipped with six more High Thrill rides for you to enjoy,  like the infamous Steeple Chase and Soarin’ Eagle rides. The Park also comprises of several eating joints that offer the perfect food for a hot summer’s day, and if you want something a bit different, don’t worry, there are tons of eating places that surround the Coney Island Boardwalkand Luna Park for you to choose from. Also while there don’t miss out on the chance to win a traditional amusement park prize at one of the exciting games that the Park offers.

In addition, keep your eyes out for special events being hosted at Luna Park or nearby at the Coney Island Boardwalk area. There are a series of events like Sideshows, Movies, Parades and Concerts as well as interactive events like Yoga on the Beach. When you choose a day to enjoy all Luna Park has to offer, make sure to check the timings for the park as they constantly change. With all these events, an amusement park, the beach and delicious food, the fun is guaranteed never to end!
