They’re some of the most popular forms of exercise—belly dancing, Zumba, yoga, Pilates and Nia—and now, you have the chance to try them out. Try It On Events is hosting a women’s wellness event on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at The Westin at the Domain. This event is created to get you moving by offering you the opportunity to take part in various exercise classes.
Kick-off the day with a health session titled, “Caring For Yourself So That You Can Care For Others.” Then, enjoy a light lunch provided by Try It On Events, followed by an afternoon of group exercise sessions. Then, end the day with a healthy happy hour. Tarie Beldin, Founder of Try It On Events and a registered dietitian, along with the The Westin chef will discuss how to create lower calorie cocktails and appetizers.
Tickets are $35 and this event benefits the ALS Association Texas Chapter. Try It On Events has partnered with the ALS Association, which is the non-profit organization that helps those suffering from Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, is a neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells and pathways in the brain and spinal cord. When these cells die, voluntary muscle control and movement dies with them. Patients in the later stages of the disease are totally paralyzed, yet, in most cases, their minds remain sharp and alert. This event wants to celebrate the ability to be able to move our bodies while increasing awareness and funds for those ALS patients who cannot!
The Westin is also happy to host this event and is offering discounted rates to Try It On participants. Make it a girls’ weekend and spend the rest of the weekend dining, shopping and enjoying some relaxing spa treatments with your favorite girlfriends!
