SpaceCraft Studios is a brand new and unique craft boutique in the Avondale area of West Ashley offering DIY crafting kits, local, handmade gifts and classes in creative handmade goods, a daily open workspace for local crafters and even a button press! After a soft opening through the summer, SpaceCraft will hold its grand opening party with an assortment of crafty activities on Saturday, August 25 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m., along with an Etsy Craft Party for more experienced crafters on Friday, August 24.
The Charleston area is filled with creative spirits: artists, art lovers and artisans abound. Now we all have an outlet to learn, share and simply hang out in a creative space filled with possibilities! Workshops are BYOB and kid-friendly. Their summer DIY workshops are a perfect way to keep kids (and moms!) happy and busy over the summer. Learning to make things yourself instills a certain pride in the things you own that can’t be gained from simply buying a product; the object you created will always carry the happy memories of learning to make it, from the mistakes you learned to fix to the new friends you made in the process. Children will cherish the toys they spent hours perfecting far more than the ones someone bought them. And nothing compares to the feeling of being complimented on your new-found skills!
