There is something to be said about Tuesdays. They’re not Mondays, so you can’t hate them for being right after the weekend, but they’re not Wednesdays, so you’re not quite over the midweek hump yet.
Thankfully, there is something to be thankful for on Tuesdays in Annapolis. Christine Lilly of Yoga Karma Adventures offers free sunset yoga on the shore of the Severn River through the summer months every Tuesday night from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. A perfect way to end the stress of the start of the workweek and prepare yourself for the second half of the week is with beautiful views and breathtaking sunsets while easing into your favorite yoga poses.
The open level class takes place at Jonas Green Park across the Naval Academy bridge and is free to the public. Perfect for beginners, Christine is great about providing ways to expand your practice and challenge yourself with various poses, while always emphasizing the importance of going at your own pace and doing what feels good for you. She adds the nice balance of teaching yogic breathing while also incorporating core exercises during Chatarunga to make you really feel like you’re getting a workout in.
Christine shares her love of the way yoga makes her feel, inside and out, with her students, believing and teaching that yoga heals from the inside out. She teaches her students to find a peace that will really cultivate happier lives.
Classes typically range anywhere from five to 35 students and have a number of loyal students who are there weekly.
