Ladies, let’s admit it, we really do love to be spoiled rotten, at least some of the time! And being spoiled is just what you will be at Spoiled Rotten Salon. Owner and founder of Spoiled Rotten Salon, Tami Milicia, studied fine arts in school and had dreams of being an art teacher. If you think about it, doing hair and makeup is an art form in it’s own respect. But something was always missing and Tami did not feel fulfilled in that particular vein of study. On the side, Tami would style her friend’s hair and over time she finally realized, “hey, I’m good at this and I like making people feel good about themselves!” Tami then worked for other salons for years before finally opening Spoiled Rotten Salon a year ago, integrating her personal touches and warm personality in with her experience and expertise. Tami explained to me that it’s a “hairdresser’s to dream to open a salon” and Tami did just that!

The salon offers an intimate setting and showcases chic chandeliers in each room, hot pink and black paint and stark, white furniture. In fact, the unique sofa in the entry room is what inspired the look for the whole salon. During my visit, from start to finish, Tami took good care of me offering me a chilled bottled water upon arrival and stacks of magazines (that I never ended up reading because we were so busy chatting away).

I received highlights at my visit and Tami was quick and efficient in doing them for me (I had a meeting shortly after my appointment) although I did not feel like she was rushing. Tami and I had a great conversation and I felt like I had known her for a long time. Tami actually says this is one of the attributes that sets her salon apart from others: the relationship. Tami wants to be more than a hairdresser for her clients, she wants to be a friend and she doesn’t just want her clients to look pretty, but to feel pretty from the inside out.

Spoiled Rotten Salon offers haircuts, color and makeup application as well as Brazilian Blowouts.
Monica Herrera and Molly Elliott are the two other stylists at the salon and offer their services with the same mission as Tami: to offer great personalized services and spoil every client that walks into the elegant yet cozy salon.
Spoiled Rotten Salon is also active in the community and is involved in the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which raises money and awareness for cancer research for children. One of the foundation’s fundraisers involves volunteers agreeing to shave their heads in order to raise money and the exciting event takes place at Fado’s Irish Pub.

Tami also speaks to girls in Girl Scouts teaching them how to correctly wash their faces, apply makeup and other tips that girls should know. Tami feels it is most important to help build all young girls’ self esteem and confidence, because true happiness shines through and enhances outer beauty.
