Ever wondered how start-ups, well, start up? Are you an entrepreneur or would you like to be? 106 Miles, California’s largest “Drink-u-bator” has expanded their networking meet-ups to include none other than San Diego. This informal and welcoming group is a great chance to meet like-minded folks, grab a drink and talk business. Wait, what? Yep, business. But not so much as usual.

Cleverly named after a quote in the famous Blues Brothers movie, 106 Miles is representative of the journey in which entrepreneurs embark on. The meet-ups happen once a month, usually on Wednesday evenings, at casual bars whose locations vary. This month the meet-up will be on Wednesday July 25 at 7pm at Arterra Restaurant and Outdoor Lounge located at the Marriott in Del Mar.
The networking group welcomes anyone interested in start ups including entrepreneurs, start ups, angel investors, VCs and engineers. Parking is free with validation and all you need to bring is yourself, business cards, a thirst and even a friend if you would like. I’ve attended several of the meet-ups and always come away with a stack of business cards, a new perspective and sometimes even a business opportunity. Unlike some of the stuffy events I’ve been to in the past, 106 Miles is designed to be comfortable, casual and very informal.
