Wine and Design Mount Pleasant hosts Paint It Forward every month with fun evening painting workshops featuring adoptable animals to benefit the Pet Helpers Animal Shelter. This month’s session will take place on July 19, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This class requires preregistration either online or via phone.

During this two-hour painting session, instructor James Irving will teach the class how to paint animals step-by-step using an adorable Pet Helpers adoptable animal as his model, creating a unique portrait of the featured animal for its new family to take home upon adoption. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own pets to use as portrait models. No artistic experience is required; the course is designed for beginners, and Wine and Design instructors will guide you along every step of the way if you wish.

Canvas, acrylic paints, brushes and an apron are all included in the ticket price, along with a corkscrew and cups for any libations you may wish to bring. Guests are encouraged to bring their favourite drinks and snacks to enjoy during the evening. Attendees must be 21 or older in order to bring and consume alcohol at this event. Wine and Design does not sell beer or wine.

All workshop attendees (and newfound artists) can take their artwork home to show off to family and friends at the end of the night. The two-hour session uses acrylic paints, which dry quickly.

All proceeds from the event will go towards the charitable work of Pet Helpers, a no-kill nonprofit shelter in James Island for cats and dogs, who need the funds to provide spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, medicine, food, toys and shelter for hundreds of animals.

WHEN: Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
