Miami Heat NBA Championship Celebrations In Miami

The entire city of Miami is in non-stop celebration mode as the Miami Heat are crowned NBA Champions! Hundreds of thousands of fans lined Biscayne Blvd for the Miami Heat Championship Parade. Players and coaches along with their family and friends rode atop double decker buses as confetti filled the air.

After the parade, around 15,000 fans, mostly season ticket holders, joined the team inside of American Airlines Arena for a presentation of the NBA Championship Trophy. DJ Irie hyped up the crowd as each of the players were introduced. Chris Bosh wrapped his arms around the trophy and gave it a big bear hug, while Udonis Haslem kissed it three times.

Dwayne Wade presented the trophy with a pair of black rimmed eyeglasses, a now famous fashion statement that he and many of the Heat players don after games. Coach Erik Spoelstra, President Pat Riley and team owner Micky Arison all wore similar pairs of the black spectacles for the event. The excitement in the room was thick as the crowd cheered for Lebron James. ”It’s the best feeling I’ve ever had. … This was my dream, right here, to be able to hoist that Larry O’Brien Trophy up, hug it, grab it, never want to let it go,” he said.
