Whether you’re planning the perfect date or just want a night out with friends, Chastain Park is the place to be this summer. Every Thursday in July, The Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces will host a free, outdoor movie at sunset as part of the Chastain Park Summer Movie Series.
The films, which range from the classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s to this year’s Academy Award winner, The Artist, will be screened on the hilltop meadow just off Park Drive in Historic Chastain Park.
Packed with girl-power, this summer’s line-up includes:
- July 5: The Artist. This homage to the silent film era tells the story of George Valentin, a fading silent star, and his love interest, Peppy Miller, a young dancer who is burning up the “talkies”.
- July 12: Mirror, Mirror. Julia Roberts stars as the evil queen in this live-action version of the classic fairy tale, Snow White.
- July 19: Letters to Juliet. A young woman, who dreams of becoming a writer, travels to Verona, Italy for some Shakespearian inspiration.
- July 26: Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Audrey Hepburn stars as the free-spirited socialite Holly Golightly in this classic film based on Truman Capote’s novella of the same name.
What movie would be complete without food and drinks? Local food trucks are on-site to provide your favorite eats along with beverages including beer and wine. There’s no better way to spend a Thursday evening. Sit back, relax and enjoy some of your favorite flicks under the stars. (Blankets are allowed, but not lawn chairs.)
