Austin’s established Lakeway Resort and Spa, located above the shores of beautiful Lake Travis is offering
Ten Days of Fun in the Sun to commemorate Independence Day with loads of activities, events, live music and specials that will appeal to couples looking for a romantic get away and families from Friday, June 29 to Sunday, July 8.

Activities will include kid’s nightly movie screenings, s’mores by the fire pit, the Sunset Pool swim-up bar and nightly happy hours at the Back Porch (a large balcony overlooking the lake).

Parents will appreciate a full program of children’s activities such as story-time, face painting, water balloon races and a treasure hunt at The Kid Zone, which offers supervised, kid-friendly activities for just $10 for the first hour and $5 for every additional hour.  More activities will be centered around golf, tennis and water sports on the lake.

I visited the resort on a sunny summer afternoon and toured the resort guided by Erin Randell, the Marketing Manager for Lakeway Resort and Spa.  The resort is strategically situated above Lake Travis and the views are phenomenal!  The lobby of the resort is decorated with rich colors and all things Texas with a twist of just the right amount of luxury, including hardwood floors, deer antler chandeliers,  leather couches and large area rugs.

Erin escorted me to the area designated for corporate meetings and included in the meeting spaces is a huge room completely lined by nothing but windows, all around with complete, clear views of the lake below . . .  now who wouldn’t want to conduct business in a serene setting like that?  Lakeway Resort and Spa also incorporates a top of the line spa, San Saba Spa, which includes nine indoor treatment areas, separate men and women’s locker rooms with dry saunas, separate lounges, private, outdoor spa terraces, couples massages, couples shower and spa boutique . . .  are you getting hot yet?

What a great opportunity to rejuvenate not only your mind and body, but your relationship too!  Erin reminded me that the resort can add on food items including strawberries and champagne while guests enjoy the spa services as well as ordering from the spa menu.  My tour of the resort ended with a delightful lunch with Erin at Josey’s and Travis Dining Room.  The Josey’s menu offers a wide variety of high quality dishes and every Wednesday the bistro will offer a  Farm to Table custom menu created by Executive Chef Jeff Axline inspired by Austin’s local farmers, ranchers and artisan food producers.  I ordered the Grilled, Open Face Steak Sandwich which was extremely tender and savory, accompanied with ripe, grape tomatoes, feta cheese and nutty arugula.

Erin ordered the Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken and it looked delicious and the portions are very generous!  Erin also recommended the Chicken Fried Beef Tenderloin and Oven Roasted Turkey Sandwich among other delectable choices.  While I was enjoying my fabulous lunch with my fun lunch date, Erin, I spoke with Adam Cormany, Lakeway Resort and Spa’s Outlets Manager, and when I asked him what his favorite aspect was with working for the resort, he replied, “It’s the people.  They really breathe life into the atmosphere here; the people are the true beauty of working here at the resort.”  Adam is clearly passionate about the guests he is able to accommodate at the resort and he offered me the up-most customer service during my visit.  And finally, just to illustrate how serious Lakeway Resort and Spa takes customer service, on my way out the door to depart from my luxe visit, Valet Attendants, John Conley and Taylor Radford, opened both of the heavy, wood entryway doors for me; I felt like a little princess!
