For over 30 years, Washingtonian Magazine has invited readers to vote for the best people, places, and services in the area. Readers rate everything from pizza parlors, sliders, and cocktails to Congress members. Washingtonian editors weigh in too with their picks of the best Washington has to offer.
At the AT&T Best of Washington party, winners of the magazine’s best of the city competition set up booths and serve up their top food and drink. This year, on Wednesday, July 11, from 6-10 p.m. at the National Building Museum, the winners will amaze and delight lucky attendees with dazzling food and drink and lots of mingling and playful activities. Last year, more than 1,500 guests, celebrities, restaurateurs, and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society supporters filled the National Building Museum to sample, sip, and socialize.
This writer attended last year’s event and was thrilled with the imaginative variety and creativity of the samples offered. A major highlight is the creative cocktails that permeate the celebration. I have never tasted such innovative libations anywhere else. What a testament to Washington’s reputation as a trend-setting party town!
This event sells out every year and features more than 60 of Washingtonian’s 100 Very Best Restaurants and celebrated chefs, including Michel Richard of Citronelle and Central, Robert Wiedmaier of Marcels and Brasserie Beck, Tony Conte of the Oval Room, Scott Drewno of the Source by Wolfgang Puck, and Bryan Voltaggio of Volt Restaurant.. and Top Chef fame.
New additions to the line up include: Pearl Dive Oyster Palace, Ping Pong Dim Sum and Plume at the New Jefferson.
This year all funds from the silent auction and a portion of ticket proceeds will once again go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
The AT&T Best of Washington party will be the highlight of the summer season.
