Dolce Vita Cafe In Austin’s Hyde Park

Tucked away in Austin’s trendy Hyde Park area, Dolce Vita is an eclectic little café that is the perfect place to relax, enjoy a quick lunch,  grab a drink for happy hour or escape the Austin heat with some gelato.

With a small seating area inside, Dolce Vita offers patrons the option to sit on their patio and people watch. On my recent trip, the weather was perfect for a nice drink outside.

It offers a small selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner items, along with both an espresso and gelato bar. Besides serving up traditional coffee beverages, this locale also boasts a unique cocktail and wine menu.

Another unique drink on the menu is the Sorberita, a blended sorbet or gelato and flavored liquor cocktail. This drink is the star of Dolce Vita’s Happy Hour. During the week, the drink is $5 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and all-day Sunday. The Sorberitas come in a wide variety of flavors, easily satisfying any palette.

On the same trip, I ordered the Espresso Soberita and a friend ordered the Mango. Both were unique and had a kick to them. Since I am a sucker for fresh mozzarella and pesto, I also ordered the Mozzarella sandwich with a side of kettle chips that was also pretty good.

Aside from a selection of wines, Dolce Vita also blends sweet flavors into a wide selection of martinis. For instance, their namesake martini is a blend of Bailey’s, Godiva’s Chocolate and Vodka. Their complete menu can be found on their website.

If you are looking for a new spot to add to your Happy Hour list, Dolce Vita is definitely worth a visit. The place offers a great atmosphere and selection that is truly Austin.
