Drew Barrymore got married to Will Kopelman on June 2 wearing a custom Chanel wedding gown. The wedding was held in California and, yes, the couple is expecting a child. While photos of the entire head-to-toe bridal look have not yet surfaced, the dress clearly has a modest and conservative design that we do not often see!
The couple was going for a “vintage-romantic” themed wedding. Drew’s gown was specifically designed to reflect this style.
As Us Weekly reported last week, “The bride and mom-to-be wore a long white dress in pleated muslin and organza, designed for Barrymore by Karl Lagerfeld The skirt of the dress was embroidered with flowers in organza, muslin, tulle and feathers. A black satin belt accentuated Barrymore’s waist — and baby bump. She also accessorized her bridal gown with Chanel Fine Jewelry.”
The lesson here: don’t be afraid to experiment with sleeves, collars, fabrics, and accents with texture and color! Do not settle for a wedding gown that everyone has already seen. Take your time and select a dress that reflects your personality and how you want others to perceive you.
Clearly, Drew was successful in creating a classy-but-edgy look for her happy day!
