What is more fun than basking in the sunshine with great friends, good conversation, and a bottle of wine? In celebration of Wine Week, the Denver Performing Arts Complex is hosting the Colorado Urban Winefest Saturday June 9, 2012. This is the 2nd annual fundraiser for the Colorado Association for Viticulture and Enology (CAVE), a non-profit organization in which all funds go to the education, research, and equipment purchases to improve the grape growing and winemaking of Colorado wines. With purchase of a General Admission ticket, you will receive a commemorative wineglass and wine tote, plus unlimited wine and entertainment.
Sip, sample, and stroll among Sculpture Park with libations from 42 of Colorado’s finest wineries. This festival brings the vines of distant mountain wineries right to your fingertips, some of which include Snowy Peaks Winery of Estes Park, Creekside Cellars of Evergreen, and Maison La Belle Vie of Palisade. Savor the slow ripened grapes of the Rocky Mountain region, which according to local winemakers, has yeilded some of the most incredible harvests in recent years. Enjoy food and wine pairings, listen to live music, meet artisan winemakers, and give into the age-old sensation of stomping the grapes!
