On Friday June 8th, the rivalry that has existed through the ages will once again come to life. Blondes vs Brunettes flag football will kick off at House Park Field and the competition will be fierce. Founded in part by Miss A’s own Andrea Rodgers in 2005, the tradition continues right here in the ATX. The game is benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association and will help raise awareness, fund care and aid in researching this deadly disease. Since 2005, Blondes vs Brunettes has expanded into six cities in addition to Austin and has raised over 2 million dollars to fight Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s is now the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and affects over 5 million people across the country. Blondes vs Brunettes is
a fun and interactive way to raise awareness and, whether participant or spectator, this is not an event to miss. For $25, you can join in and watch the game in Austin to determine which side is truly the fairest. The ancient rivals will be split, Blondes on one side, Brunettes on the other (redheads can pick a team) and yet all will be united in a common cause to end Alzheimer’s disease.
