The American Cancer Society, DC Capital Area is hosting the second annual Cure by Design DC cocktail party and fashion show to be held on Friday, June 22 at The Ronald Reagan Building.
Through Cure by Design DC the fashion, design and retail communities join forces with the local corporate community to benefit the American Cancer Society. The event is unique because each model who walks the runway is a cancer survivor.
The event celebrates cancer survivorship and hope for a cure by focusing on the role that research, prevention and early detection of cancer plays in everyone’s life.
The money raised at Cure by Design enables the American Cancer Society to fund cutting-edge research, early detection and prevention education, advocacy efforts, and life-affirming patient services. By supporting Cure by Design, you are partnering with the American Cancer Society to help cancer patients in your community.
Barbara Bates from NBC Fashion Star is dressing six models and Sondra Falk, local DC designer is dressing seven models. Alex Garfield, a NYC designer, will be there and she is founder of the Cure by Design event.
Kristen Berset, Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter for WUSA 9, will be the first model to walk the runway, and will also serve as event MC.
