The 7th Annual Financial Services Cares Gala to Benefit the American Cancer Society will honor John W. Thiel, Head of U.S. Wealth Management and the Private Banking & Investment Group at Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management. BlackRock, the largest asset management firm, will be the inaugural recipient of the 2012 Financial Services Cares Distinguished Service Award.

The Financial Services Cares Gala is designed to bring together industry leaders to raise funds and support programs of the American Cancer Society. Each year, a leader is celebrated through the Eugene D. O’Kelly award, named for KPMG’s former Chairman and CEO.
The cocktail reception will begin at 6 p.m, followed by a dinner and both silent and live auction. The proceeds from the gala will go the American Cancer Society so there can be less cancer and more birthdays.
The American Cancer Society is a global grassroots dedicated to fight cancer. They contribute $3.5 billion dollars annually to help find a cure for cancer and towards research.
