The inductees include Jonathan Larson (composer), Duane Cramer (celebrity photographer), Carla A. Harris (Morgan Stanley), and Dionne Warwick (5 time Grammy award winner). Each person is being inducted because of their passion and persistence to change health disparities and to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic. News Channels such as ABC, CBS and NBC will also be recognized for drawing attention to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

The honorary dinner chairs of the evening will be Tiki Barber (NFL), Phil Ramone (music producer), and Anthony Rapp (actor).

“The National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS is honored to recognize these esteemed individuals and news organizations at our annual benefit for their strong commitment and courage in helping to combat HIV/AIDS in our local communities,” said C. Virginia Fields, president and CEO of the NBLCA. “Fighting AIDS requires urgent action now. Our honorees are leading this fight and continue to shine the light on the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS and the alarming, disproportionate rate of the disease in the black community.”

The event will be hosted by TV personality Wendy Williams. The night will start with a cocktail reception, move to the awards ceremony, induction into the Hall of Hope and Remembrance, followed by dinner and dancing.

NBCLA was founded in 1987. Its mission is to educate and empower black leaders to challenge and fight against HIV/AIDS in local communities. It is the largest non-profit organization of its kind in the US.
