Originally from South Carolina, Leslie Silver earned her Journalism degree at Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!) and moved to the Big Apple right after school. After six years in the city she was ready for a change of lifestyle and weather and made the move to Austin. Leslie works in hospitality public relations and loves to take her experience of trying top-notch clients around the world and using those experiences to critique spas and restaurants all over central Texas.

Leslie is a Huge dog lover, outdoorswoman, avid reader and has a healthy obsession with the show Parks and Recreation. Though living in Austin for less than a year, she’s already experience quite a lot and can’t wait to learn, explore and write about everything she discovers in the next year.

Renegade Craft Fair Coming To Austin

The third annual Renegade Craft Fair is taking place May 19-20th.  Attendees can enjoy shopping at products from hundreds of booths, with a majority being Texas goods.  Some of the crafts that will be showcased at the fair from Austin companies include Nepenthe’s Bathtime soaps, Kate Winternitz fine silver jewelry and Savannah Red Curvy Couture  The full list of artists participating can be found here.

The WonderCraft will let guests get crafty in their Airstream o’ craft with projects for all ages to make.  Guests can give themselves some personal flair at the Gold & Glitter Folk booth and then take some snapshots in the Magnolia Photobooth Co.

Waterloo Records will be providing DJs to create the ‘craft-y’ soundtrack to the day.   Food and beverages (including alcoholic beverages) will be available for purchase throughout the fair. Be sure and check out the owl items at the fair; the owl is the mascot for the fair and Mat Dalyproduces limited-edition posters for each fair that always features an owl in a different design.
