After having three children within 26 months, Dallas Louis’ life has been a non-stop circus. From nearly getting kicked out of Disney World after her youngest tackled Cinderella, to being on a first name basis with her family orthopedic surgeon, Louis’ children and home life are a constant source of material – enough to fill her new book, The Mommy Diaries: How I’m Surviving Parenting without Killing Anyone (May 2012).
You know what those are. We’ve all been there. From epic melt-downs in the most public of places, to your sweet little preschooler loudly asking you why the lady in line ahead of you is “so fat”. These are cringe-worthy mom moments! Mother’s Day is the perfect time to celebrate and find the humor in these moments that make you want to bury your head and pretend those kids belong to someone else!
This book was so funny, I could not put it down. I was laughing so hard at times I was almost crying. It made me feel like a better mommy and that you don’t have to be the “perfect” mom. I know it will never happen for me after having twins who are 4 and a 2 year old. I love reading a fun book that really helps you feel better about all the craziness of being a MOM. I loved it and it’s a great Mother’s Day present.
Here is my craziest Mommy moment so far:
I was getting everybody ready to leave for preschool (who thought preschool should start at 8:00 a.m.) and my little one Nico, who was just one years old, pooped. So there is one stop before we get out the door. I throw him down next to the door, grab a diaper and wipes and try to have a speedy diaper change. Not to happen though, he had a pooplousion. Yes, I said it, up the back and all over- YUCK. Well, at least the twins were waiting patiently to go. Reese, my queasy one, came over to ask me something, saw the mess, and proceeded to throw up all over himself and the floor. Yes, a disgusting mess all around. Needless to say, we were late for preschool and I never let Reese come near me while I was changing a poopy diaper again.
