It was a party at Austin’s Lofty Dog in the Village “Poochinis and Peticures” night on May 3.
With dogs running around and owners mingling, Mud Puppies was able to quickly work through the list of customers who wanted “peticures.”
Held on the first Thursday of each month, owner Veronique Michalik’s aims to help raise awareness for different rescue groups through the “Poochinis and Peticures” events. This month, it was the Austin Humane Society.
Through working with these organizations, Veronique hopes to raise awareness for all the rescues, while raising funds and helping animals get adopted.
More than 20 animals were able to get their nails trimmed during the event. One of them was Cheyenne. Owner Suzanne Stafford brought Cheyenne in for the first time, because she liked the idea of bring able to not just get Cheyenne’s nails trimmed, but also give the dog a chance to socialize.
Providing this complete dog experience is one of the main goals for for the Lofty Dog, and through events like this, the Lofty Dog staff is able to achieve this.
Ian Michalik, Lofty Dog employee, enjoys the event because it gives both the dog owners and the dogs a chance to socialize, making friends that they may come back to the store with next time.
Veronique also likes the fact that the event gives the dogs a chance to socialize, and play inside, where it’s a little cooler, especially with the weather warming up.
The team at the Village location will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, May 12. This celebration will also support the Humane Society, and it will be filled with adoptable animals and events for the whole family.
“Poochinis and Peticures” is held at the Village location on the first Thursday of every month from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.s
