The 5th Annual National Harbor Wine & Food Festival will return to the National Harbor Waterfront on the Potomac on Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. each day. The event is in a tent-covered beautiful outdoor setting on the banks of the Potomac River and surrounded by the Inner Harbor hotels, restaurants and shops, and promises to be a true destination event.
More than just a tasting, the Festival brings together area chefs, artisan craftsmen, culinary pioneers, smooth jazz and family fun, as well as wine and spirits from around the world. This year’s festival will include over 150 International wines, spirits and beers, featured along with local and regional favorites. Guests can sample all of the varieties, as well as purchase them by the glass and the bottle, on-site at special event only low prices. Beyond the drink tastings there are many other highlights which include: a Cinco De Mayo Pavilion featuring Hornitos tequila, Special craft beer tasting Bier Garten experience, Whiskey and Bourbon Tasting Experience in a relaxed setting – paired with hand rolled cigars, three stages of live music and smooth jazz, and so much more. It is the largest wine festival of its kind in the Metro DC area.
The VIP Pier will offer wonderful restaurant tastings for foodies to indulge their inner passions! There will be many special appearances on the Viking Cooking Stage. They include Sticky Fingers Doron Petersen of Food Networks’ Cupcake Wars, one of the defining personalities on the Food Network Sara Moulton, The Wine Coach Laurie Forster and The Beef Association’s Dave Zino on Saturday alone. Then Marta Ines Quintan of Havana Road Cuban Café, Natalie Dupree making her famous Southern biscuits, Sara Moulton and Jim Baker of the Washington Wine Academy and Cooking with Salt and Pepper will be attending on Sunday. All of these local, regional and nationally recognized chefs will offer book signings, meet-and-greets and cooking demonstrations.
