Hard Night, Good Morning Skincare By Dallas Native D’Andra Simmons

Girls, let me tell you a little beauty secret … skin care is a must.  All you have to do is walk into your favorite department store or flip through the pages of your favorite magazine to see the ads catering to women of all ages, showing beautiful faces, proclaiming the latest anti-aging secret, but what to use on your own skin?  Just walk outside and it is easy to see that Dallas is full of beautiful women, and People Magazine agrees, as they have recently named her one of America’s Most Beautiful.

The gracious and ambitious D’Andra Simmons, community activist and creator of Hard Night, Good Morning, is proudly one of our own, and she is willing to share her beauty secret to get the glow — “Always wash your face.”

Like most women, I’m not sure any product can still the hands of time, but I am willing to give it a good faith effort.  And, since I have decided to age naturally, beautifully and as gracefully as possible, what better way than to consult women that are doing just that.  So when I was approached by the Dallas based Hard Night, Good Morning team about sampling D’Andra’s line, I set out to do my research.  After all, this is my face we are talking about.

Pouring over more than a dozen years of experience in the natureopathic wellness and nutrition industry into a tangible product, Hard Night, Good Morning is aloe-based and paraben-free while being rich in essential oils and skin-loving complexes that are clinically-tested — and many happy, vocal faces agree.  Simmons began the line, in the midst of a recession, when she wanted to branch out from the family business, Ultimate Living International, and create a product that met the needs of her skin and those of men and women, in alignment with the values that she lives the walk by.  Several years later, Simmons created the line that we now see at present.

First impressions:

Complete Hard Night, Good Morning Line (credit:AbstractMarketing and D'Andra Simmons)

The name is tongue-in-cheek, for me, recalling memories of two different, sometimes overlapping, life stages — one of  late night parties and the bubbles of champagne, the other of the first days home with a newborn, trying to remember what sleep felt like.  I have to admit, both periods of life could have used this line. Chic, black-on-white with simple to use pumps and easily labeled products that make application fool-proof.  The sensory experience of the Hard Night, Good Morning line is a luxurious one.  From the chic packaging, product texture, feel and scent, Hard Night, Good Morning is reminiscent of prestige brands and other high-end lines that are easily at-home on the counters at Neiman‘s and Stanley Korshak, but distinguishes itself by having a natural base, consumer-friendly pricing and by virtue of the fact that it is easily accessible online or locally at Whole Foods, Central Market and other niche boutiques across Texas, Oklahoma, DC, Virginia, Maryland and New Jersey.

Favorite products:

My absolute hands-down favorite product is the Facial Cocktail Serum, followed closely by the Detox Toner Spray.  My son loves the smell of the Facial Serum and has happily commented that “my face smells like oranges.”  Dubbed an “overnight sensation” by Ritz Carlton Magazine, this was the product that I noticed made the most difference in my skin.   Unlike anything that I was using before, two or three pumps and my skin drinks it right up, replenishing my skin with vitamins and the good stuff that it is so hungry for.  After talking with personable and super-friendly D’Andra, she noted that the scent alone took numerous hours and two years to get right, and that the “grapefruit scent” is said to be a man magnet. One look at D’Andra’s ruggedly handsome fiancee, Colin, and you know that it works.

The Detox Toner spray has become a handbag staple for me.  The days are getting hot here in Texas, and the glisten is not as attractive as I would like.  It is a Ph Balancing, antioxidant packed, refreshing spray that serves as a pick-me-up that serves my skin well. What I have noticed is that after month, my skin looks great, smoother, tighter with fewer breakouts.  I can see from photos that my pores look smaller and this sensitive skin of mine adores the line.

My favorite product is the HNGM Nighttime Cleansing Oil, it is wonderful for my sensitive skin and it removes make up and cleanses my face.

Wonderful article and great of you to share with the world. I too have sensitive skin and D’Andre was at first leery of my using the serum too often but it passes and yes it is invigorating as well as lovely to smell. The viscosity and lush feel of all her products is just luxurious. I love it all!

The PM Oil Cleanser is a great addition to the line. Excellent for removing makeup.
