The Addams Family Musical On Broadway

For decades, the Addams Family has remained in our minds as the one family that never fails to surprise us. Originally created by Charles Addams in 1938, the story and its characters have been adapted into movies, television shows, and now a Broadway musical.

Starring Roger Rees, Brooke Shields, Jackie Hoffman, Rachel Potter and several other remarkable actors, the Broadway production of the Addams Family is a spectacular show that is complete with lively music, humorous dialogue, well made sets and costumes and of course a generally macabre theme.

The story takes place at the Addams Family mansion in Central Park and explores Wednesday’s plight as she turns 18 and falls in love with an outsider. Chaos and pandemonium ensues as she invites her new boyfriend and his high maintenance family over to meet her wacky family, who are desperately trying to be “normal” for Wednesday’s sake

The show is a great idea for a family night out, although there are some mentions of death and sexuality in the play. Nevertheless, the beloved characters are determined to leave a smile on your face despite its ghoulish theme.
