American Cancer Society Hosts 7th Annual Taste Of Hope At 82 Mercer In SoHo

The American Cancer Society is hosting Taste of Hope on Thursday, May 3, 2012. More than 800 of New York’s most discerning diners will enjoy tastes from the city’s most notable chefs. The 7th annual Taste of Hope event is taking place at in Soho and is honoring celebrity chef Todd English for his dedication to the cancer research community.

Guests are invited to sample bites provided by some of New York’s hottest restaurants including, Ça Va Brasserie, Beauty & Essex, Blue Ribbon Sushi, Coppelia, Delicatessen, MacBar, The Harrison, Mercadito, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Empellon and many more.

Among the notable chefs to be featured at the event will be Chefs Jimmy Bradley, Michael Ferraro, Julian Medina and Eric B. Levine, to name a few. The beverage offerings have been donated by this year’s sponsors, including exclusive wine sponsor, Vinitaly–who will be bringing in 25 Italian wine producers from Italy’s top wine producing regions–, Stoli and Nespresso USA.

Attendees are invited to participate in the silent auction, which will feature such items as an “Iron Chef” style dinner for four prepared by Chef Marc Forgione, dinner for two at the James Beard House, jewelry from Judith Ripka and event sponsor, eco-friendly designers Alex and Ani, as well as a week long stay in a presidential suite at Hacienda Del Mar in Los Cabos.

All proceeds support the American Cancer Society’s mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. With over 3 million volunteers, it is the nation’s largest non-governmental investor in cancer research.
