Spring is all about renewal and rejuvenation, so why not revamp your beauty regimen with some tools you may not have tried before or neglected in the winter? Now that it’s time to flaunt those legs, rock flirty looks from head to finger tips, and put our best and brightest faces out there again, you may want to invest in these tools to primp and polish yourself this season. You may just gain a new beauty essential.

TWEEZER EPILATOR

The modern epilator is the ultimate body hair removal tool. Think of it as dozens of electrical tweezers in one – mechanically grasping multiple hairs at once and pulling them all out. Epilators work a lot like waxing in that they pull the hairs out from the root, but unlike waxing, epilators do not remove skin cells. I’ll be honest, because hair is removed from the root, the pain factor on this beauty tool can be high depending on the brand, but with regular use you may build a tolerance in no time. Some prefer epilating over shaving, especially under the arm, because it does not leave dark casts, creates less stubble, minimizes ingrown hairs, and lasts up to six weeks with one use. There are tons of epilators on the market, but Good Housekeeping gave the Panasonic ES-WD51-P Epiglide Ladies Wet Dry Epilator its coveted stamp of approval.

HEATED EYELASH CURLER

You’ve probably tried the funny looking contraption that is the traditional eyelash curler, but have you tried the heated version? It does the same job in less time and may give better, longer lasting results for those of us with straight, downward lashes or in need of a little oomph around the eyes. Some heated curlers work similarly to mechanical curlers, while others look more like electronic mascara wands. Makeup Alley reviewers gave the Japonesque Mini Heated Eyelash Curler above average ratings.

NAIL ART STAMPER KIT

If you’re a nail girl like me, you may appreciate this beauty tool. Nail art stamper kits can take a manicure from plain to designer. By stamping pre-designed images on your nails you can get intricate designs that might be difficult to do by hand. Fancy, fun salon-worthy nails couldn’t be easier or quicker to achieve. KONAD Stamping Nail Art offers a stamping kit with dozens of design plates to choose from.

LANCET & EXTRACTOR TOOL

Probably the least glamorous but maybe the most useful tool on the list is the lancet and extractor tool, a favorite among skin care specialists. We all know you should never pop a pimple or blackhead with your hands as it can cause bruising, scarring, and create bacterial re-infection. With proper usage, this tool can minimize those problems for those occasional blemishes you just can’t ignore. After cleaning with antiseptic and opening the infected pore(s) with warm water, you can use the sharp lancet end to pierce deep skin whiteheads and the extractor end for blackheads by gently pushing all the yucky stuff out without disrupting the surrounding skin. BodyToolz.com offers numerous lancet and extractor tools among many other skin care and facial cleansing tools.

BARREL CURLING IRON

If you’ve ever wondered how celebrities achieve those elegant old Hollywood curls on the red carpet, wonder no more. The barrel curling iron is like the traditional curling iron but it is clipless (no crimp marks!) and allows you more control on the tightness of your curls, giving you flirty natural-looking, effortless spirals and waves. Because there’s no clamp to hold your hair in place, you might have to wear a glove on your free hand to hold the hair in place depending on the brand. ConsumerSearch.com‘s “Best Reviewed” barrel curling iron award goes to the Enzo Milano Clipless Curling Iron.

Which of these beauty tools have you tried? What are some beauty tools you recommend for spring?
