This Monday, April 9th, at 7:30 p.m., the Suzanne Roberts Theater, in association with the Philadelphia Theater Company, will be hosting a Tribute to Tony Bennett in Words and Music benefitting The Center for Literacy.
Philadelphia-born singer and bandleader, Eddie Bruce, will be performing with the Tom Adams Trio. Bruce has been a devoted Bennett fan for over 20 years and cites him as an inspiration.
Joining Bruce onstage will be David Evanier, author of All the Things You Are, a Tony Bennet biography, and jazz deejay Bob Perkins. Both will be interjecting personal anecdotes throughout the performance of Bennett and his life.
A portion of ticket sales will benefit Philadelphia’s Center for Literacy, the nation’s largest and Pennsylvania’s first non-profit community literacy provider. Their mission is “to unleash the power of literacy to improve lives through a wide range of literacy services, including reading, writing, math, life, technology and work skills, to help a diverse population of learners meet their needs and achieve their personal and employment-related goals”.
