Target To Launch Boutique Collections

A few years back Target did a very smart thing. It began partnering with high-end fashion designers making chic cheap for the mainstream shoppers of America. A sample of those designers include Jason Wu, Marc Jacobs and who can forget the chaos surrounding last fall’s Missoni launch.

Now the mass retailer is at it again but instead of joining forces with designers they are doing so with boutiques.  The mega store has pinpointed specialty shops across the U.S. that are known for their curated, focused merchandise and is bringing that buyer’s eye to the Target customer.  This new concept is called The Shops at Target and it will offer over 400 items among the five independent retailers it has hand picked for this collaboration including The Webster (fashion),The Candy Store (sweets), Cos Bar (cosmetics), Polka Dog Bakery (dogs) and Privet House (home goods). Genius!  Enjoy a sneak peek of what’s to come below.  The mayhem begins on May 6th with a launch in stores and online.
