Steaks and stilettos are just a couple of the things that we Miss A ladies enjoy!  However, this event is much more than just a reason to break out the fancy shoes and enjoy a nice meal, because you will also be supporting a wonderful cause.  Steaks & Stilettos is the annual fundraiser for Habitat Charlotte Women Build.  Women Build is a program where all-women volunteer crews build a Habitat for Humanity home. The nation’s first all-women-built house was constructed by Habitat Charlotte volunteers in 1991 and the idea went on to become both a national and international initiative. The Women Build program has built over 1,800 Habitat for Humanity houses across America and 30 other countries. Charlotte residents should be proud to know that such a great program started in their backyard and has been going strong for over twenty-one years.

This year’s fundraiser event will be held on Tuesday, March 27th at Bistro La Bon.  The program includes cocktails and dinner, a raffle, a silent auction and a presentation by a Habitat Women Build homeowner.  All funds raised will help  underwrite the cost of materials needed for the three Women Build project including one new build, one rehab of a vacant, foreclosed home, and one critical repair of an existing, owner-occupied home. Habitat Charlotte is dedicated to providing long term support to families.  Services include practical budgeting and home repair training.  Since 1991 Habitat Charlotte has constructed 14 new homes with all-women volunteer crews.
