Spring Facials At The Away Spa At The W Hotel In Austin

Away Spa

The facials at Away Spa at the W are truly heavenly.  The international W Hotel brand is known as a luxurious and chic hotel and the W Austin is definitely no exception from the sleek lobby to the organic cuisine at the Trace restaurant at the hotel.  My first visit to the Away Spa at the W was just a fantastic overall experience that lived up to all of my expectations.

If you are looking for a more private experience, going during a weekday can almost give you the feeling of having your own private spa.  Plus, all spa guests can enjoy the gorgeous fitness facilities for free, so plan on getting there early to get in a nice workout before your treatment.  The gym has a variety of cardio machines and weights in the full-service gym as well as a studio for stretching and core workouts.

After a grueling workout, you can walk down the hall to enjoy the big, spa showers and steam room.  The steam room is in one of the showers and doesn’t look like much at first as I was a little disappointed it wasn’t a separate room, but it was lovely and steamed up really quickly.  The lounge has a big, flat-screen TV and tons of magazines, all new issues too which is a big plus (I hate going to nail salons and the only reading options are magazines that are at least 6+ months old).

My facialist, Jan, had great ‘tableside manner’ in that she asked enough of the right questions (my skin type, what I currently use, biggest concerns, etc.) but no extra chitchat.  It was thorough, felt so cleansing, she kept extractions as pleasant as possible and it really was just an overall delightful time.

But, the most positive benefit is that my skin looked amazing for several weeks afterwards.  I had a little bit of skin irritation leading up to the facial and she really cleared it up and while she recommended some products they carried it wasn’t too pushy to purchase them.  Overall a definite A experience and one of the top facials I have had to date in Austin.
