Searching for the next “big” thing in the Mile High City? Check out the Damn You Look Good exhibit at EventGallery 910Arts in the Santa Fe Arts District, March 16 – March 31, 2012. This Multimedia Art and Signage System (MASS ME) will be unveiled to the public Friday, March 16th 7-10pm, accompanied by live music from John Runnels, metal sculptures by Dangerous Art, and human connection products from Simply Alive. This innovative production is a sensory experience empowering businesses and artists to showcase their product, brand, and image in a cutting edge fashion.

Tommy McMillion - Founder of McMillion Entertainment  - with the help of a close friend, brainstormed and invented the Damn You Look Good product, aesthetically inspired by Michael Angelo’s “The Creation of Adam”. McMillion – producer, photographer, entrepreneur – was kind enough to share the inside scoop on his upcoming event, and the unique and powerful ways in which his product is shaping the way people connect.

Q – What inspired you to create this multimedia product?

A - My inspiration came from wanting to combine everything that I do and love, as an artist and business person, into one enterprise that would be viable for art enthusiasts (the public) and businesses alike. I started as a performer (in another life), singing dancing, writing, arranging. I then created my own music studio and began producing. I always loved photography, video, graphic design, marketing, and building. So my goal was to take all of these passions and develop a business where I can do them all, all of the time.

Q – Do you foresee a shift in the ways in which artists and businesses market their brand and products?

A - Due to technology, information about products and services have become saturated. Technology is great, but the human connection is most important. Providing a premium product is only part of the battle. Service and integrity is the other side of the coin. Artists and business are going to have to put more effort in crating a bond with their potential clients/customers in order to compete.

Q – Can you explain in layman’s terms what the piece really entails?

A - Damn U Look Good is a product integrating fine art with technology to create an overall multi-sensory experience. It has high end audio, large format photography on canvas, a computer (320 gig hard drive, 2 gigs of ram, wifi), video camera, and embedded monitor in one large steel structure.

Q- Is there a cost to attend the Damn You Look Good event?

A - No cost for the event.

Q – Is the MassMe product something you customize for clients? Is there an estimated cost range if a company or artist wants to use or purchase this? Or is it a service you provide?

A - The MASS ME (Damn U Look Good) product is fully customizable for clients, or they can purchase existing concepts. These pieces can range from $5000 to $1Mil and maybe more depending on the size, complexity, and materials used. It’s tough to put a price range on any of it due to it’s customizable nature. Budget and imagination are the only limitations. Whether for an individual or business the process is: 1) We meet to discuss the content and focus for the experience. 2) McMillion Entertainment creates a 3D digital image of the proposed piece 3) We get an approval from the client on the design 4) We start production on the experience. Turn-a-round depends on the complexity of the experience. I want to show individuals an alternative to just doing basic portraits. I’d like for people to see the value of having still photography, their meaningful songs and sounds, their favorite videos and images coming from one piece of art…and the flexibility of being able to change the non-stagnant information at will. I’d like to show businesses a new way of stopping traffic and making people pay attention to their products and/or services with a MASS ME experience. I’d also like to impress upon businesses that they have the ability to generate an advertising revenue stream through a MASS ME experience.

Q - Why did you choose the Santa Fe Arts District for your event?

A - The Santa Fe Arts District is an amazing place. There are so many talented people here in Colorado and I wanted to contribute and be a part of the scene. I’d love to be a part of helping the Santa fe Art District become even more well known on a national, as well as international level. I also knew that my specific audience would be in greater concentration in this area. EventGallery 910 Arts gave me, as a newcomer, the ability to display my work.

Q – Did you invent this type of multimedia production? What was the most challenging aspect of making your vision come to fruition?

A - Yes, MASS ME was developed by in a brainstorming session between myself one of my best friends Igor of Igor’s T-Shirts. The most challenging aspect of this project was managing all of the different talents needed to make the project a success on a limited budget. There were several people/companies that I brought to the table to provide their skills to make my vision a reality .Walter P. Thompson, Inc. (investor), Listen Up (audio electronics), Igor’s T-Shirts (design), RAW Natural Born Artists (advertising), Strait Lumber (materials) , Dangerous Art (Metal Fabrication), Opam (Metal fabrication), Ingvald Technology (Information Technology), Joey Julian Designs (digital concepts), John Runnels (live music for the show), Simply Alive (PR), EFillF Productions (Video), Artemisia Technologies (consulting), Smokehouse Meats (catering), One Twisted Cupcake (catering), MovesMaster High Performance Consulting (consulting)

Q – Give me a few examples of how businesses and artists could use this. When, where, and how?

A - The product could be for artists, but our target audience is art enthusiasts and businesses. Art enthusiasts: More than a family portrait for the home, it’s a personal multimedia experience 1)Store and/or update and categorize thousands of photos, videos, and audio 2)Download information directly from the Internet to your art 3) Develop and/or update slide shows and/or play lists Businesses: 1)Display company brand, products, and/or services 2)Generate advertising revenue 3)Download proprietary business updates real-time 4)Drive customer sales with rotating call-to-action commercials 5)Be a point of destination at trade shows and conventions 6)Create a unique point of sale display 7)Customized content management system

Q - Does music inspire you? What types of music are you drawn to and how does it affect your work?

A - Music is incredibly inspirational to me. I used to create songs for commercials and create sound beds for cable channels like Starz Encore. I’ve worked with local, national, and international artists. I actually wrote, produced, recorded, arranged, and mixed the title piece, Damn U Look Good, for the project. the musicians included Joe Dibiasio on guitar, Bryan Gordon on Bass, and Charles Peterson (of Dotsero) on drums.

Don’t miss your chance to snag a first look at this state of the art production! Round up your crew and awaken the senses with an evening of technology, music, and MASS ME, in the heart of Denver’s most creative and interactive art scenes.
