Nneka Egbuna’s music is a mix of Afro-beat, hip-hop, and soul music. Her heartfelt lyrics about her native Nigeria has earned her comparisons to a legendary African artist, Fela KutiHer honest lyrics about the corruption in the country is also mixed with a pride about the people and natural beauty of Nigeria.  Nneka’s latest single, “My Home” is a plaintive plea for equal treatment of workers in the diamond mines of Nigeria. Though the song is political, it also has a personal quality that makes the song relatable and emotional. As she herself said, ” “I do it in a sweet way – but I sing to speak the truth.”
