Similar to the hit ABC competition series, Dancing with the Stars, Dancing with Chicago Celebrities brings together eight of Chicago’s famous faces to show off their newly-acquired ballroom dancing skills.

Competitors include NBC-5’s Kim Vatis, WGN’s Erin McElroy, CBS 2’s Ryan Baker, Fox 5’s Tammie Souza, ABC-7’s Bruce Wolf, and Desmond Clark formerly of the Chicago Bears. Regina Fraser of Grannies on Safari and Miss Illinois 2011 Hannah Smith round out the contestant line-up.

This year’s judges are the winner of the 1st Annual Dancing with Chicago Celebrities winner and Chef Rick Bayless, Snow Urbin of So You Think You Can Dance fame, and Nick Kosovich, a former world and U.S. ballroom champion and professional competitor on seasons 2 and 3 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.

Contestants will perform choreographed routines with professional partners from Arthur Murray Dance Studios. That dance-off is followed by another, in which some well-known corporate leaders of Chicago will cut a rug in the Corporate Challenge. The six teams will take to the floor in a sudden death elimination round of Swing Dancing. They’ll all begin together, then one-by-one will be eliminated until one winning pair remains to take home the trophy!

This year’s competition goal is to raise $500,000 for Komen Chicago. The Chicagoland Area Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure ® raises funds that provide breast cancer education, screening and treatment grants for uninsured and underinsured men and women throughout the Chicagoland area. Up to 75% of the net revenue raised is distributed right back into the Chicagoland Area. The remaining 25% directly supports Komen’s National Research Grant Program.
