Tibi Fall 2012 At New York Fashion Week

The crowd at the Fall/Winter 2012 Tibi collection was full of anticipation for the show and Amy Smilovic‘s collection did not disappoint.  The look was minimalist-chic with clean lines, boxy-silhouettes, and rich fall tones like navy, merlot, and hunter green paired with muted grey, beige and black.  But the mood was far from somber as models walked down the runway to Season of the Witch by Donavan/Karen Elson, Bonnie & Clyde by Luna and Lay Me Down by Graffiti 6.  Styling choices reflected this pared-down aesthetic including side-parted ponytails with a touch of bedhead tousling, strong dark eyebrows,  and soft coral lips.  Fabric choices included a mix of knits and leather with touches of liquid satin shine and glitter.  Some of my favorite looks included a beautiful lattice-like geometric print and bird print reminiscent of a silkscreen.  While there wasn’t any evening wear per se, there were plenty of dresses and separates (turtlenecks, jackets, cigarette pants, skirts) that could work for both day and night.
