Here’s exciting news for Atlanta theater-goers: the world’s longest running musical, Les Miserables, is coming to the Fabulous Fox Theater in a special 25th Anniversary production! Tickets are available for sale now, so hurry. The play runs just 6 days, from Tuesday, April 24 to Sunday, April 29, 2012.
This special production features spectacular new staging and scenery based on the paintings of the author of the classic novel, Victor Hugo.
If you’ve never seen the play or movie adaptation, you’ll find that Hugo’s tale is an uplifting story about the survival of the human spirit. It focuses on the struggles of Jean Valjean, a poor man who steals a loaf of bread to feed his starving family, and finds himself imprisoned for 19 years. Other stories are woven into the tale, until it becomes an epic story of mankind’s search for redemption.
Memorable songs from Les Miserables include “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” “Stars,” “Bring Him Home,” “One Day More,”“Master Of The House” and many more.
An estimated 60 million people in 42 countries have seen Les Miserables, or Les Mis, as it’s often called, making it one of the world’s most popular musicals.
