New York Fashion Week for the Fall/Winter 2012 season is in full swing. We had a fashion show showing spring trends here in Towson, MD. The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland hosted Turn Up the Heat! to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disorder affecting the lungs, pancreas and other vital organs.  In the United States, approximately 30,000 individuals have cystic fibrosis.  Through innovations in treatment, the average life expectancy for people with the disease has increased from 6 months in the 1950s to 37 years today.

The event took place at BMW of Towson.  The sleek, elegant cars were the perfect backdrop for the runway.  The evening started with a reception with tasty hors d’oeuvres from Bluestone.    DiWine Spirits provides a selection of red and white wines for the evening.   Dr. Larry H. Lickstein, a board certified plastic surgeon with the Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland, provided some opening remarks.  All the models in the show (who were flawless, natch) were patients of the practice.  The MC for the evening was Baltimore STYLE Magazine’s Lisa Simeone.

Models walked down the runway in the hottest trends for spring including colorful Aztec prints, flowing maxi dresses and playful rompers.  Clothing and swimwear were provided by South Moon Under.  The fashion show ended on a sultry note, as models wore pieces from Lingerie Lingerie (perfect timing for Valentine’s Day).  It was a great event for a great cause, and hopefully the first of many more to come.
