The Alameda County Fairgrounds will be hosting California’s Baby & Kidz Expo this Saturday, Feb. 11, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. This single-day expo is sponsored by local radio and news stations, like Alice 97.3, Bay Area Parent, and the Bay Area News Group, and is packed with family fun.
For $10 per adult ($5 for ages 65 plus, and free for kids 12 and under), parents can get resources on schools, products and entertainment, plus enjoy face painting and character story time with the family. From a Happy Family Cooking Demo – Healthy Snacks for Kids (at noon) to contests like the Diaper Derby and Toddler Derby, this expo has a full schedule. With door prizes, hands-on activities, performances, event bags, games, and jumpy houses it might be difficult to get your kids to leave at the end of the day. Just be sure that you get your picture taken with Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax before you go. Check out the expo’s Web site for a coupon that gets you $2 off adult admission to the event! I’ll be there for all the family excitement, and to see just what these derbies are all about. Expect a follow-up article on my day of expo festivities.
