BAM! Emeril Lagasse’s done it again, this time in uptown Charlotte! His 13th installment, e2: emeril’s eatery, will be a new addition to his 12 other award-winning restaurants, located in New Orleans, Las Vegas, Orlando and Bethlehem. Emeril, a former student of Johnson & Wales, has become a national TV superstar, appearing on networks like ABC, The Food Network, and The Hallmark Channel.
Emeril also has two of his own shows, and premiered as a guest judge on Top Chef Texas. As if that doesn’t take the cake, Emeril is a best-selling cookbook author, and his “new” approach to New Orleans cooking is what you’ll find at this quaint little eatery located inside the Levine Center for the Arts. On the menu you’ll see plenty of North Carolina farm-fresh product, with New Orleans’ style remoulades, gumbo (of course!) and collard greens. This is down-south laid-back cooking at it’s finest. And if you’re still on that New Year’s diet of yours (I mean “lifestyle”), then make sure to eschew the dessert menu, especially the Warm Huckleberry Upside Down Cake, the Sweet Potato Cheesecake, and the Cranberry-Ginger Brioche Bread Pudding. Hey, I warned you.
