Polar Plunge To Benefit Special Olympics Texas

Are you brave?  I mean really brave?  I’m talking about jumping into ice-cold water in the middle of winter brave!  If you think you are up for the challenge, then attend the Polar Plunge!  The Law Enforcement Torch Run officers from the Central Texas area are pleased to welcome you to the 2012 Polar Plunge!  This unique event offers individuals, businesses and organizations the opportunity to support
Special Olympics Texas athletes.

Special Olympics Texas was created to involve people with intellectual disabilities in everyday society through sports training and competition.  For 40 years, Special Olympics has been helping athletes become leaders and heroes in their communities and within the organization by turning opportunities into achievements.  Participants at the Polar Plunge must raise at least $50 in donations from friends, family and co-workers in exchange for taking the plunge.  All money raised will be used to provide year-round sports training and competitions for 4,558 athletes in the Central Texas area.  Polar Plunge is perfect for young and old alike, groups of friends, families and individuals.  And to make things even more interesting, you or your entire team, is encouraged to wear a creative costume to the event which will be judged for a chance to win the “Silver Plunger Award.”
