Unleashed: Dinner With Your Dog To Benefit Nashville Humane Association

Normally, I do not advocate dogs at the dinner table. I’m a sucker for those big, begging eyes, and after too many freely given helpings of table scraps, my border collie turns her nose up at her Pedigree. However, I am more than willing to make an exception for the Nashville Humane Association. This Saturday night, January 21, the NHA is hosting Unleashed! Dinner with Your Dog. Hosted by former American Idol contestant Kellie Pickler, this night of revelry features dinner and a fashion show with your canine companion. Local fashion, jewelry, and interior designers have been hard at work designing the most fabulous canine couture for the NHA adoptable pooches to wear as they strut their stuff down the runway. These haute hounds will be led down the “dogwalk” by local celebrities including frequent Opry performer Jimmy Wayne and former Miss Tennessee Allison Demarcus.

The event, which begins at 6:30 p.m., is being held at the Hutton Hotel. Unleashed! will include a cocktail hour, dinner with your dog, a canine couture fashion show, a doggy valet, and a live auction. The Catwalk Ticket, which can be purchased for $150 ($120 tax-deductible), includes drinks throughout the evening, dinner, special reserved seating, and a commemorative gift. An $80 general ticket ($50 tax-deductible) includes drinks during cocktail hour only and dinner with your dog. Tickets can be purchased online with the Nashville Humane Association. Slip something fancy on Fido and take him out for a night on the town. Don’t have a dog? This is the perfect opportunity to see dogs in need of families looking their very best. This event always attracts large crowds, so get your tickets while they last!
