National Wear Red Day is less than a month away and what better way to celebrate than local events in the Atlanta area? From Buckhead to downtown, there is something close by that will give you an opportunity to support a great cause and look cute at the same time. Fund raising at these events will go to countless hours of research for a cure to cardiovascular disease, the number one killer in Georgia. You can show off your red attire in support by sending a tweet to @atlantaheart for a chance to win special prizes during Go Red for Women Connect Event.
There’s another reason to go to the mall besides catching the New Year’s sales. Various malls around Atlanta will be hosting the Atlanta Go Red for Women Connect events. The department store Macy’s in Perimeter Mall will host on Saturday February 4th, 2012 starting at 1 PM. To show support attendees are asked to wear red attire and connect with other supporters of the fight to keep women in charge of their heart health.
On Thursday, February 2nd from 8AM-9AM celebrate the Go Red Lobby Day & Wear Red Day Resolution at the Georgia State Capitol building. Attendees will enjoy a breakfast meet & greet with Georgia legislators, remarks from heart disease survivors Senator Gloria Butler and Valencia Seay and many photo opportunities with state legislators.
No matter what event you choose to participate in February, please remember to support all business and retailers that donate a portion of their proceeds to the American Heart Association. For more information regarding Wear Red Day visit: www.heart.org
