5th Avenue Theatre’s New Works Program In Seattle

Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre has long been a cultural bastion for the arts in Seattle and has now vowed to make some significant and positive changes in 2012 which should benefit many in the Seattle arts community.

Ian Eisendrath will head The Seattle 5th Avenue Theatre’s New Works Program. The intent of the New Works Program is to foster and support new musicals from start to finish in all stages of the musical process. The rather extensive New Works Program is being funded by generous philanthropists Marleen and Kenny Alhadeffand will include workshops and retreats as well as fully-staged productions.

5th Avenue Theatre Director Bill Berry is touting the New Works program as “an investment in the future of American musical theatre” and is confident that Ian Eisendrath is the right person to lead the project into 2012.

Writers, musicians, and anyone interested in having musical projects considered for the New Works Program at The 5th Avenue Theatre should submit a script and a demo CD with three or more songs, as well as a resume with current contact information, to Ian Eisendrath.
