Cavalia Odysseo Premiers in Midtown Atlanta

The box office smash Cavalia returns to Atlanta with a brand new production. This winter, Cavalia Odysseo presents a stage show like no other through a combination of equestrian arts, acrobatics, music, multimedia, wizardry and special effects. The performance, which made its U.S. premier in Atlanta on December 7th, explores the partnership between humans and horses throughout the ages.

Using a big top that is two and a quarter times larger than the original White Big Top, Cavalia Odysseo offers artists and horses the opportunity to perform like never before. Advanced multimedia technology brings audiences into the wilderness where they will enjoy the grace and beauty of the horse in its natural habitat. Nearly 70 horses share the stage with 50 acrobats, aerialists, musicians and riders as they show off their talents. Audiences of all ages will enjoy watching horses and artists jump, dance, twirl and play as they demonstrate the bond between man and horse.

In 2009, Cavalia brought its original production A Magical Encounter between Human and Horse to Atlanta with surprising success. After being extended five times, Cavalia spent 10 weeks at Atlantic Station, entertaining nearly 120,000 spectators. The 2011 Calavia Odysseyo has already received rave reviews. Johnny Crawford, Sports Photographer for the Atlanta Journal Constitution called it, “The best show since the 2008 Beijing Opening Olympics.” Atlanta Magazine, CNN, DailyCandy and Creative Loafing Atlanta have similarly praised the performance.

Find out what everyone is talking about. Join Cavalia for a journey through time and space as you explore deserts, waterfalls, canyons and glaciers with some of the world’s finest performers. You’ll watch as the White Big Top transforms into a three-dimensional forest, rolling hills and a distant desert, all beneath a sky of moving clouds. Then, a herd of horses will lead you into the magical world of Cavalia, where you’ll enjoy awe-inspiring landscapes, music, and performances from the four corners of the world, all without leaving your seat.

Due to popular demand, Cavalia has extended its Atlanta run until January 29th. It’s not too late to see one of the most amazing performances of the year. Order your tickets today!

Forget Odysseo this year. Don’t buy tickets if you felt the majesty, the mystique, the power, the surreal human-animal, horse magic bond in lat year’s show. Cavalia 2010 found this emotion and connection and displayed it with a variety of soft romance and action packed thrills. This year’s Odysseo is an excellent display of human tumbling gymnasts. The set is excellent. But where were the horses of Cavalia? Big Miss for me.
